Genealogy

Many members of the society have donated family files or family histories to our collection housed at the Local History and Genealogy Branch of the Washington County Public Library. A few major donations have come from the late Jerry B. Devol, the late Owen P. Hawley, the late Clyde Swift, the late Bernice Graham, and our members Elizabeth Stanton Cottle and Millie Covey Fry, to name just a few.

Many surname files are in the file drawers. A local collection is frequently the only place a certain piece of information can be found, and it is not "all online."

We are sitting here with lots of good, sometimes unique, information in Washington County, Ohio, and now you have found us! Please join us in our efforts. Enjoy the information we put online, yes, but this is just the tip of the iceberg.
