Addenda - MEEKS, GIDEON (Grandview Twp.) Gideon Meeks died 18 Nov 1863 and was buried at Chattanooga National Cemetery. He was killed in the Battle of Missionary Ridge as a Private, Company H., 92nd Ohio Infantry. [D. Nitsche]
I believe Grandview Township was his residence, as he married there and his parents lived there (Bazil Meeks and Mary Gray Meeks). In her later years, Mary Gray Meeks spoke often of her amazement and pride - her father served in the Revolution (and was the last veteran of that war to die in Ohio) and her son served in the Civil War. ----Submitted by Nina Ronshausen
