Addenda: BRIGGS, Felix (Muskingum Twp.) Williams History states he was in Co. "F" 23rd KY, died Jan. 24, 1864. Civil War Database gives it as Co. "I" 23 KY Infantry. Wounded on Dec. 31, 1862 at Stones River, TN. Died of wounds on Jan. 25, 1863. This was the only Felix Briggs that I could find in a Kentucky regiment.

Civil War database states he was 18 yrs. old when he enlisted on October 19, 1861. Died on April 30, 1862 in Saint Louis, MO. There is a Jacob COOK buried in Section 65, Site 10886 in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO., but his DOD and interment is January 13, 1862. Not sure if this is the same person.

Civil War Database states he was a Private and gives the age of 18 when he enlisted. He died on September 17, 1863 in Little Rock, AR. There is a George W. KIDWELL who was a 1st SGT. DOD & interment September 17, 1864, buried in Section 1, Site 599 in the Little Rock National Cemetery in Little Rock, AR. Take note that the year of death and rank does not match.

Civil War Database give only 1 person by the same Name, being mustered out on Oct. 1,1862 in Camp Delaware, Ohio. Further research indicates there were 3 Mordecai LANCASTER's in Ohio Regiments.

Civil War Database only gives his rank as a Private. He died on July 25, 1863 in Murfreesboro, TN. Corporal William Marshall of Co. A. 36th OVI is buried in Section __, Site 2051 at
Stones River National Battlefield Cemetery in Murfreesboro, TN. His date of death was July 25, 1863. Burial date is unknown.

He was a Confederate. Further research indicates that the 2nd Battery, Arkansas Light Artillery was a Confederate Troop. Crute's compendium contains no history for this unit. Only 21 men enlisted on the Roster.

The only info that I could find on any CUTSHAW in the Civil War Soldiers & Sailors Database that was in Co. K, 175th Ohio is that of a Samuel Cutshaw. He is listed as Shannon Cutshaw in the American Civil War database. He died on March 28, 1865 in Nashville, TN.

Addenda: CUTSHAW, William (Newport Twp.) <span style="font-size: small">His brother Shannon died but William did not. He was married to Susannah Blair and they had a large family of children. He was from Newport Twp and his pension file shows him as of the 175th OH, Private, Co K. William actually died at the train station in Tulsa OK while he and his wife were waiting for the train to return them to Marietta after being in Tulsa visiting their daughter per the widow's file for Susannah. He is buried at City Cemetery in Tulsa. A photo of his headstone is available on line. Have never figured out why he is listed as having died during the War. There was no other William Cutshaw in his unit or in the Newport area???? Just one of those mysteries for which we will never have an answer!
